On the evening of November 5, 2018 a female student was assaulted across from the University of Arizona Recreation Center. Below is an email sent to students from the University’s chief of police.

On November 5, 2018, The University of Arizona Police Department was made aware of two incidents involving two separate assaults reported by females, near the UA campus. These two crimes were reported to the Tucson Police Department.
The incident occurred sometime after 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 5 near Mansfeld Middle School at Sixth and Highland. The victim was unable to describe the initial attack, but recalls waking up while being dragged by the suspect. He is described as a White male over 6 feet tall with shoulder-length hair and a thick beard and moustache.
The victim said she was able to stand and began kicking and punching the suspect, who fled. In this case, the suspect grabbed the victim’s phone, but the phone was recovered.
